  1. Pendennis Castle

  2. Henry VIII's stunning castle dominating the Carrick Roads.Built in 1540-45 as one of a pair of artillery forts, this was to protect this strategic area from the threat of invasion from catholic France and Spain.

  3. Falmouth Docks

  4. The foundation of Flamouth docks in 1860 produced a focus for maritime related industries. The railway, finally reaching Falmouth by 1863 helped promote the growing tourist trade.
    This resulted in the first purpose built tourist hotel on the seafront in 1865 and the development of the family bathing beaches of Swanpool, Gyllngvase and Maenporth
    Currently Pendennis shipyard is home to one of the most highly regarded super yacht builders in the world. The yard is occasionally open to the public.
